Cordless Telephone

A cordless telephone is a telephone with a battery operated wireless handset that communicates without a cord to a base station that connects to the telephone jack. The cordless handset is powered by a battery which is recharged by the base station when the handset is connected to the base station when not in use. Virtually all cordless telephones now sold in the US use higher frequency signals to communicate between the cordless handset and the wired base station. For example, the most common frequencies for cordless telephones are 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, or 5.8 GHz bands. The cordless telephones for sale today offer a long range and a high quality signal with very little noise or interference. Looking for a new cordless phone can be a little overwhelming with all the features, options and models available. Generally, you want to go with a higher frequency cordless telephone that uses a digital signal and choose a brand name that you're familiar with.
