VME bus

VMEbus is a computer bus standard, originally developed for the Motorola 68000 line of CPUs, but later widely used for many applications and standardized by the IEC as ANSI/IEEE 1014-1987. VME VXI is a 32 bit bus that is widely used in industrial controls, aerospace, transportation, simulation, medical, scientific, business and military applications. This VME processor module allows users to take advantage of the powerful multiprocessing capability of the VMEbus while using standard off the shelf PC. It is widely used in industrial, commercial and military applications with over 300 manufacturers of VME bus products worldwide. VME is structured as a set of layers, each layer having access to resources at different levels of abstraction.
