Temperature Sensors
How can you measure temperature? Temperature can be measured via a diverse array of sensors. There are approximately six types of temperature sensors: thermocouples, resistive temperature devices (RTDs and thermistors), infrared radiators, bimetallic devices, liquid expansion devices, and change-of-state devices. Big differences exist between different temperature sensor or temperature measurement device types. In the most general sense, you can group them by contact and non contact sensors. The silicon bandgap temperature sensor is an extremely common form of temperature sensor (thermometer) used in electronic equipment.
