Statistical Process Controls
A primary tool used for SPC is the control chart, a graphical representation of certain descriptive statistics for specific quantitative measurements of the manufacturing process. Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a method of using statistical charts to monitor product quality and quantity in the product process. Statistical Process Control should be used to determine the effectiveness versus the errors, but first controls must be put into place. Most often used for manufacturing processes, the intent of SPC is to monitor product quality and maintain processes to fixed targets. Statistical Process Controls can be applied to a whole variety of processes.
