Oscilloscopes
Oscilloscopes are electronic measurement devices that are handy to have in the workshop for observing the characteristics of a circuit in real time, debugging, and hardware hacking. Digital storage oscilloscopes use a fast analog to digital converter and memory chips to record and show a digital representation of a waveform, yielding much more flexibility. Some oscilloscopes have cursors, which are lines that can be moved about the screen to measure the time interval between two points, or the difference between two voltages. The digital storage oscilloscope, or DSO for short, is now the preferred type for most industrial applications, although simple analogue CROs are still used by hobbyists. An oscilloscope is a piece of electronic test equipment that allows signal voltages to be viewed, usually as a two dimensional graph of one or more electrical inputs.
