Inductor

Inductors are also employed in electrical transmission systems, where they are used to intentionally depress system voltages or limit fault current. An inductor would ideally offer no resistance to direct current, however only superconducting inductors have truly zero electrical resistance. The term inductor refers to a passive electrical device employed in electrical circuits for its property of inductance.
