Gauges

The term gauge may refer to a measurement of diameter of a wire, the caliber of a gun barrel, in medicine to determine needle sizes or a device to indicate information about a system as in a fuel gauge in a car. American Wire Gauge (AWG) sizes may be determined by measuring the diameter of the conductor the bare wire with the insulation removed. Rail gauge is the distance between the inner sides of the two parallel rails. Wire gauge is a measurement of diameter of a wire.
