Compression Springs
Compression springs are wound with space between the coils and often have flattenedends to allow capture and compression between flat surfaces (examples coil springsin cars and springs in ballpoint pens). Compression springs can be found in ballpoint pens, pogo sticks, valve assemblies of gasoline engines, and the coil springs on your car, to name a few. Compression springs are usually designed so that the coils touch before the elastic limit is reached, thus protecting the spring from abuse. Find manufacturers of custom compression, extension, torsion and double torsion springs, wire forms, stampings and wire assemblies.
