White Tea

White tea comes from the camellia sinensis plant just like black and green teas. White tea leaves are picked and harvested before the leaves open fully, when the buds are still covered by fine white hair. White tea is rarer than the other teas and quite a bit more expensive. White tea undergoes very little processing and no fermentation. White tea has a flavor described as light, and sweet. Some studies have also shown that white tea contains more active cancer-fighting antioxidants than green tea. White tea contains more polyphenols, the powerful anti-oxidant that fights and kills cancer-causing cells, than any other type of tea. White tea can help your body's immune system fight off viruses and dangerous infection-causing bacteria. Fluoride-rich white tea may help prevent the growth of dental plaque.
