Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup uses permanent pigmentation of the dermis (the same method used in tattoos) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup. Permanent makeup can replicate eyelining, eye shadows, mascara and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips and eyelids. Permanent maekup is possible through a procedure called micropigmentation in which an organic pigment is embedded beneath the skin to add permanent color. Permanent makeup can be useful for women who wish to wear makeup, but cannot apply it easily because they have allergic reactions to makeup materials. Patients considering permanent makeup should be aware of the potential problems of later removal and complications that may ensue.
