Orthotics
Orthotic devices are frequently used to treat various conditions of the foot and ankle. Orthotics are often very effective in relieving common complaints. Orthotics may be recommended to aid in: aligning and supporting the foot or ankle ; preventing, correcting or accommodating foot deformities; and improving the overall function of the foot or ankle. Custom orthotics are more expensive than off-the-shelf orthotics but they last much longer and provide more support and correction. Consult your physician before buying or using any orthotic device on your own. If you select the wrong type of orthotic, you could do more harm than good.
