Invisible Braces
Invisible braces, or clear braces, are a newer type of orthodontic braces that work by putting pressure against the teeth, moving them gradually over time. Invisible braces come in two basic types: Invisalign type braces that are removalable aligners that the patient wears between meals; or, light colored traditional braces that use ceramic or other special metals to blend in with the natural tooth color. In any case, today's braces are generally less noticeable than those of the past. The orthodontic brackets with invisible braces are bonded to the front of the teeth and can be clear, or tooth-colored. Even the wires that are used for braces today are also less noticeable. The cost of invisible braces varies, but expect to pay between $3,000 and $8,000.
