Colon Cancer
Colon cancer and rectal cancer are collectively called colorectal cancer. In colorectal cancer, tumors grow in the large intestine (colon and rectum). Cancers of the colon and the rectum have much in common. The exact cause is of colon cancer is unknown but most colon cancer cases begin as polyps, which are small growths inside the colon or rectum. Colon polyps are very common and most of them do not turn into colon cancer. Also, most polyps are easily found with fairly simple screening tests.
