Lean manufacturing is a management philosophy that strives to reduce waste in the manufacturing including waste in: over-production, waiting time, transportation, processing, inventory, motion, scrap in manufactured products. By eliminating waste, a firm can improve quality, lower cost, improve production times and create more value with fewer resources.
